Living in the Moment-The Minute You Are In Is the Best Time

I usually hear people saying that “If there’s some time, I will…” “I will do this when…” That makes me feel a little sorry about that. Because no matter how much you care about it, how much you try, plan, plot or arrange everything you have to do, you will find that you leave the house at the same time each day, and arrive the office or classroom at the same time. Doing all of the things mention above, you still don’t know what will happen in the next minute.

Someone used to ask me a question, “Every people has about 20,000 days to live. Do you live your life in these 20,000 days, or you just live in one day, but repeat it in your life 20,000 times?”

Well, that is a question for me. For most of us, each day, we have a routine of life. We get up for work every day, sitting at the same desk, coming home the way you always do. It seems that we repeat our Monday morning for 5 times exhausted, and the only 2 days are so short that they pass away quickly before we can realize them.

Many people are trying to live either in what-could-have-been or what-might-have-been or if-only, or just keep thinking of what-could-be or what-might-be. One can say he’s learning something from the past, or thinking about the future will lead his ways into more sufficient working. However, memories can also be like comfortable old shoes you are reluctant to part with. On the other hand, we cannot know what will happen, even the next minute. For example, you don’t know whether your boss will call you to cancel the project you are busy working with in the next minute. Living in either the past or the future is liking being in a dream, you cannot change everything, but it may limit your capacity to be in the wonder of the present, just being with what is happening right now.

Simply being still in this moment—without attachment to, or thought of, before or after—invites a deep sense of completion, the feeling there really is nowhere else you need to be or go. It is stepping into sanity and, more importantly, into even greater connectedness. It is impossible to think of somewhere else as being better, because the grass is vividly green exactly where you are. And if you don't do this now, then when? When is the best time for you?

If you are waiting for the perfect time for something, you will find that the “perfect time” will never come, because things are changing, and you are changing, too. One cannot step into a same river twice. The water in the river is keep flowing, though it looks like the same river, they are not.

What do you think?
