Women who are mid-aged, 20-30 years of age, are prone to genital problems like Bacterial Vaginosis. It is triggered by bacteria that disturbs the pH balance of the vagina of ladies. The change in pH results in an obnoxious odor and an itching inside the vagina. Due to this fact, bacterial vaginosis becomes an embarrasing dilemma for several ladies. Bacterial vaginosis is also popularly known as BV.

There are a number of major and secondary symptoms of bacterial vaginosis. If you see any of these symptoms occurring in your vagina, you may want to get diagnosed by a doctor for bacterial vaginosis. The symptoms of BV are specified below.

Here are the initial symptoms of Bacterial Vaginosis.

Vaginal itch: The dysfunction of acid levels within the vagina results in an tenderness. If any female uffers from BV, she feels a severe itching inside the vagina. This experience can be incredibly distressful if perhaps it takes place when the woman is in a general public place.
Fishy smell: The woman will experience a foul, fishy smell down there. A woman suffering from Bacterial Vaginosis has to bear with this foul smell till the infection is treated completely. And also this makes the ladies struggling with this condition feel hesitant to go out in the open public in fear of being "smelt out". It makes the situation difficult for the unfortunate woman.
Yellow/green/brown discharge: Included with the itch and even the odor, the woman may possibly feel a steady discharge coming out of the vagina. The discharge will bear the same foul smell. And also the discharge might not be white colored or colorless - rather, it would be greenish, yellowish or brown in colour.

The secondary symptoms may not be always present, but are often observed.

Inflammed vagina: The vagina may swell because of the BV. The clitoris and even the entry to the genitalia may get bigger, and even that could make the woman feel uncomfortable.
Soreness during sexual intercourse: It may be quite difficult to have sexual intercourse as the pain is quite severe. Further, she could experience more stinky discharge after making an intercourse.
Agonizing urination: There is some bitter pain while passing urine if the woman suffers from BV.
Burning feeling within the vagina: As the acidic level of vagina is not balanced, there is a severe burning feeling inside it.

More than one of the above symptoms generally indicate the chances of bacterial vaginosis - so make sure that you get checked if you experience any of these.
