Lots of people, either because for the love of it or due to the fact they are not economically well, like to change these belts of their cars by themselves instead of visiting the near mechanic or service station and incur some costs. These serpentine belts are easily replaceable manually and hence is more useful for such people. The simple reason is that the different engine part of belts doesn't have to be taken off. Removal and replacement of a single thing is needed to be done. But, as another added benefit, these serpentine belts are of an excellent durability and do not break often. Thus, the replacement of these belts is not a big issue for the vehicle drivers. Once in a blue moon only, they have to accomplish this task if they take proper and good care of their car as well as its mechanical components.
But, like everything, these serpentine belts also have some negative property about them. When these belts do break up, the car does not have any power provided to the engine parts which are driven by the belt. The driver can have some problem. But these belts usually wear away gradually and therefore indicating about its replacement. This indication is usually a strikingly great and immense noise or a humming sound. Therefore, the car owner can easily understand the requirement for the belt to be replaced.
