When you own a company who works with computers, no matter how much work is done on the computer, it is extremely important that a disaster recovery plan is in place. Without the disaster recovery plan in place, the company would lose their data and no matter what the files were, the data would be lost if the data recovery plan was not in place. This would mean that if a computer system was to crash or be damaged from a fire or water that the company information would all be lost. Without the disaster recovery plan in place, the company could very likely fail due to the lost data.

Business computers after all, contain all forms of information for the company. The operating system and software programs that are used for running the business will also contain irreplaceable data for the business as well as customers. For example, the data stored on the business computers can include the companies’ financial data as well as sales records and employee records. All of this would be lost if the data recovery process plan is not in place.

More than ever it is important to have a disaster recovery plan in motion due to the loss of the data under circumstances that can not be avoided. Since the concept of allowing an in house recovery plan to be in place or by allowing an company who is not in house, to take the measures needed to protect your company and your companies files is essential you are able to protect your investment.

The amount of money that is lost each time that a company computer system is down is extraordinary. The amount of money that is lost when the computer crashes or is down can make or break a company depending on the size of the company. Since this is so serious, it is estimated that most of companies, 50% of them will have the disaster recovery plan in place.

In order for the company to determine the solution needed to regain their information and data, the owner of the company should meet with a recovery specialist who will take the time to look over the computer system and the type of data that is stored on the computer and what the potential risks are that are involved. Depending on the circumstances, the system that is being dealt with, recommendations will be made and the company will decide what to do with the restoration process.

Due to the circumstances that are beyond your control and the situations where computers have been tampered with, it is important to have a disaster recovery plan in place to recover all your business information and records that are needed for your company to survive.
