Accutane inflammatory bowel disease is one of many diseases that cannot be cured. Unfortunately, anyone who has developed this condition will suffer it for life, no matter what incarnation it may take. There is more than one person who has filed an Accutane lawsuit over this, as well. All of the lawsuits filed claim that the manufacturer of Accutane, La Roche, failed to adequately warn patients of the dangers of this drug. Those dangers include some well-known Accutane side effects that target the digestive system specifically, that cannot be cured, and that are expensive to treat.

Accutane Side Effects on the Body

Accutane was prescribed to 16 million people as an anti-acne medication between 1982 and 2009. It was withdrawn from the market after complaints about the numerous side effects that it’s associated with. These include both ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease. Both of these disorders are incurable conditions that attack the bowels. In the case of Crohn’s disease, the condition can attack the entire digestive tract, including anywhere from the mouth to the anus of the affected person. Accutane colitis is more specific in attacking the bowels, but is still a painful condition that oftentimes requires surgical interventions as treatments.

Coping with Accutane Long Term Side Effects

Accutane side effects will have an effect on your life, particularly if you come down with the worst incarnations of Accutane inflammatory bowel disease. The expenses associated with treating these conditions are the motivating factors when former users of this medication consider filing an Accutane lawsuit. The expenses, even before surgery is required, can be very high for the treatment of Accutane colitis or Crohn’s. Many of the people affected by this disease are young and face a long struggle with this illness and all of the expenses it represents.

Finding Accutane Lawsuit Information

Filing an Accutane lawsuit for Crohn’s disease or an Accutane lawsuit for ulcerative colitis both require that you speak to an attorney first. While you may be suffering the worst of these Accutane side effects, only a lawyer will be able to determine if you have a case or not. You may be able to recover financial damages from your case. Sometimes, they will be awarded after a jury trial and sometimes there will be a settlement offered. If the latter proves to be the case, you don’t have to go to trial at all: you’ll be offered a check to end the lawsuit.

Accutane Long Term Side Effects and Expenses

If you’re already coping with Accutane inflammatory bowel disease, you may find it impossible to even consider paying legal fees. This doesn’t have to stop you from seeking compensation for your injuries, pain and suffering. Lawyers that work on contingency will help you with no money upfront, only collecting their fee if you happen to win your case. You may be able to participate in an Accutane class action lawsuit or able to file one individually. Only a lawyer can tell you for sure which is the case.
