But for DC electric motor that is generally small motor and sets inside the electronic equipment, vehicle etc., an electric motor repair process is very easy that you can not think. There are only some components that require changing and oiling.

Steps to Follow

Step 1: The initial step is to open the DC motor. You need to unscrew the screws or metal tabs that will have to be opened by leverage. Give attention to the brushes connected to the electrical wires that are getting out of the motor. If it is possible to pull them back then you can do on larger DC motors.

Step 2: The inner coil, connected to the spindle out of the motor has to be removed.

Step 3: Check the motor brushes for wear. When the brushes are worn down, chipped or burned then you have to contact the motor manufacturer to order a new brush set.

Step 4: Under the motor housing, just find the area where the spindle sits. You will find a smooth tubing made of metal or a ball bearing set there . Use household 3 in 1 oil to apply to the metal tubing or bearings. On the coil spindle, you can find the signs of wear also on the spindle shafts. Use the oil to apply where you see wear.

Step 5: Assemble the motor again giving special attention to the brushes and make them re-aligned correctly. Now, screw the screws back in or re-bend the metal that holding tabs back into place.

Step 6: Assign the correct voltage to the motor for testing.

Points to remember

If start up capacitors weary on the electric motor then you can get capacitors from a leading supplier of electronics parts

If the motor uses high amperage then be weary of electric shot as power can burst up

Therefore, an electric motor repair process is quite simple and easy but in case, if your pool pump motor burns up then you should call a professional pool technician.
