Being a fan of a band used to mean waiting for a chance once every year or two for the tour schedule to land an appearance at a venue in one of the big cities. Depending on the popularity of the band, tickets often sold out in hours, but if you were lucky, it just meant driving to a big stadium a few hours away – and you were happy to do it.
Today, with the wonderful casinos in San Diego, it has become a lot easier to love a band and see them live. Rather than waiting a year and fighting a massive crowd trying to push its way into a stadium like the Coliseum, the concert arena like the Palomar Starlight or one of the many San Diego casinos is more intimate and better designed to accommodate fans than venues of the past.
Searching the San Diego events calendar will show some pretty exciting acts. In October, November and December, just of a sampling of the play list includes:

At one of the premiere casinos in San Diego, the Pala Casino concerts repeatedly bring some of the best acts to the stage. The state of the art Starlight arena seats hundreds of guests. And, it’s not like sitting in an end zone looking through binoculars at the stage – at Pala there isn’t a bad seat in the house. These quality cushioned seats do not make you wish you were at home in your recliner–sitting through a three-hour concert is comfortable and fun. The acoustics are great, so hearing the sly remark of a favorite performer or the riff of that crazy guitarist will be better than on CD.
