There is significant improvement in running performance with the intake of Caffeine. Many athletes have improved upon their performance with this drug. This drug stimulates the nervous system thereby enhancing the performance. It contracts the muscle faster and beneficial in short events. It prevents fatigue on the person and increases the person's ability to compete effectively. It adds free fatty acids to the blood and conserves muscle glycogen.

Caffeine is considered as a diuretic by several researchers. Runners normally take the drug in form of pill an hour ahead of competition. Few runners do not take this stimulant. Several others prefer to take a large mug of coffee. Many use it and sticks to it through trial and error system. By such experiment they come to understand the right kind of dose that suits their body. Experts opine that it has tree types of effect. It helps to burn away the fat which acts as fuel, it releases calcium from the muscles which increases their endurance and boost performance and it has positive consequence on mind which improves concentration in the competition.

Different pills of caffeine have various effects on body. Some pills help in stimulation and improve the nervous system, some constrict the blood veins to reduce the pain, but it is essential to consult your doctor before consuming this drug for any purpose. Drug should be taken under direct supervision of experts.
