Florida is one of the most popular vacation destinations in America. It has a wonderful coastal line, amazing cities, beautiful geography, excellent subtropical temperature throughout the year and most importantly, the best golf courses in the USA. Because of this, golfers, both professionals and amateurs alike, can have a wonderful time in Florida playing golf at one of its many beautiful golf resorts.

Florida has some of the best professional golf courses in the country such as the TPC Stadium Course, the Radisson Ponce de Leon Golf Course, The Slammer Golf Course, The Squire Championship Course as well as the distinctive Donald Ross-designed Course. But Florida also has a wide variety of semi-pro and public courses as well. These golf ranges can be utilized by the general public and they provide a perfect afternoon or weekend of golf with friends.

The following are some of the more popular golf courses in Florida:

Ponte Vedra Beach Golf Course: This course, with a total of 99 holes, is one of the most popular international golf courses. In fact, it ranks seventh among the "United States Best Resort Courses". The seventeenth hole of the Sawgrass Stadium, also known as "Island Hole", is recognized worldwide.

Ponce de Leon Golf Course: This golf course was first opened in 1916. It has been a home to some of the biggest golf legends of all time. It has a practice bunker, a pro shop and pitch with 9 holes. The course is a par-72, 18-hole golf course.

The Royal St. Augustine Golf and Country Club: It is one of the newest golf courses in Florida and has par 71 and 18-holes. Also available are facilities like a pro shop and a driving range.

The Conservatory Golf Course: This golf course is considered to be the one of the best public courses in the United States. It boasts a signature design done especially by Jack Nicklaus. This golf course is very unusual as it has undulating greens as well as the highest slope rating among all the golf courses in Florida. One appealing aspect is that it has six holes right on the Atlantic Ocean. Since 2007, this golf course has become the home to the new Ginn Championship.

The Players Championship at Sawgrass: This golf facility is renowned across the world. It is the home course for The Players Championship of the PGA tour. The TPC has more than a single course. The highest rated one is called The Stadium Course in which it is considered to be the very best golf course in the country. The TPC has recently been renovated and is now offering a golf experience which is even better throughout the year.

The World Woods Golf Course: Located in Brooksville, offers two of the most amazing golf courses - Rolling Oaks and Tom Fazio's Pine Barrens. It is also home to a top class high quality driving range and golf practice facility.

No doubt about it, Florida has some of the best golf courses in the country and makes an ideal vacation destination for any golf enthusiast. The best way to experience and enjoy these courses is to sign for the many golf packages that are available that cover the different courses.
