If you really are serious in looking a job, then you know how important networking yourself is. You need to present yourself professionally to your prospective employers. This makes it essential to keep your cards neat, clean and crisp all the time, and don’t forget to bring them anywhere you go whether it is to networking events, job fairs, meetings, social gatherings, parties, and anywhere else you go. Don’t forget though to keep copies of your resume with you, but in most cases it is just not practical to hand a resume.
Designing and printing
Basically, your networking cards would be created in the same size and shape as standard business cards. They should also contain the same contact details, but instead of putting your business and job title, you should put your job objective. You also need to put all the important contact information such as your name, phone number, cell phone number, email address, and mailing address.
You can have your cards printed on your own, but if you want a professional looking card you can either have it printed at a local print shop or at printing companies online. If you are printing your card yourself, be sure to use a special business card paper and good business card templates.
When it comes to the design, be sure to keep the design and layout neat, clean, and simple. As much as possible, use simple fonts with size ranging from 10 to 11 points, and stick with simple, traditional colors in ink and paper. If you are seeking for a job in a creative field, you can use a creative design, but otherwise, keep the design and colors traditional and simple the same as your resume.
After you are done printing your cards, get a card holder to keep your cards clean, crisp, and in pristine condition. If will just let your cards soiled and crumpled, you only wasted your time and money designing and printing them. Keep in mind that people are always making guesses and in seeking a job first impression is critical.
